Tris Imboden is a bonafide Legend, and EFNOTE is where he sharpens his Axe

Making (and Breaking) Records: Tris sheds new arrangements of his past mega-hits on his EFNOTE 7 drum set.
Carlsbad, CA – It’s mid morning and Tris Imboden has already paddled out and rode in multiple waves, and is now preparing for his upcoming winery gig with his new band, Tris Imboden’s Yacht Stars, for their sold out resort gig in Southern California. Tris is using his EFNOTE 7’s bluetooth feature to pump his arrangements straight into his headphones, where he controls the volume levels of the incoming music and his drums. All of this is backlit by more Platinum (some 9 x’s!) and Gold Records than most successful recording studios can claim. You have heard this living giant’s drumming, we all have.

Imboden has been playing electronic drums for a VERY long time, and was tracking them on #1 Hits before they were accepted by the mainstream and were considered gimmicks by most producers in the early 80’s. As both Kenny Loggins and Chicago’s main drummer for decades, Tris laid e-drums on some of the largest songs ever recorded, as well as soundtracking Top Gun, Caddyshack and Footloose among others.
A Master Needs Tools, not Toys
The unbelievable sensitivity, trigger response, ultra clean samples and realistic size and feel of the EFNOTE line of drums brought Tris to the yard in early 2020 at NAMM. Tris understood from the starting gun, there is a VERY bold line drawn between the EFNOTE approach and the status quo, which is… The samples are trackable.
Tris was EFNOTE’s first Legend to fully come on board and has flown the flag proudly. These drums are being tracked on albums and movie soundtracks now, and it’s because they are built to be a tool, and not just a toy. The sound is clean, and meant to be delivered straight to a live board or into a recording DAW. But don’t get me wrong, they are sexy to look at and fun as hell to put on a recoding and play along to!
